Working with adults with a complex history of trauma is beautiful but challenging work. It takes time and energy to customize the care by navigating through the trauma-informed lens. The American Psychological Association (APA) published this manual for clinicians to know what to look into and how to support clients. APA also published a guideline for working with adults with PTSD and traumatic stress disorders.

Complex trauma impacts children and adolescents in multifaceted domains including attachment, biology, physiology, affect regulation, and many more areas. Read the article Complex Trauma in Children and Adolescents written by Dr. Alexandra Cook, Dr. Joseph Spinazzola, and Dr. Julian Ford, et al. to have more understanding about the longterm consequences of complex trauma on minors.
